A Magazine Cover Wedding Photo Booth With Nightclub Energy
This magazine cover wedding photo booth turned 130 guests into cover stars. On Saturday, March 5, 2022, Bruce and Maryann celebrated their wedding at eLounge in Cherry Hill, NJ. Their theme mixed iconic pop culture with the feel of a nightclub, and 130 guests showed up dressed as flappers, gangsters and ’70s and ’80s rock stars.
They wanted a magazine photo booth that felt like stepping onto a cover: a shiny purple backdrop, the venue’s statement chair as the focal point, and cover overlays designed around their theme.
Three Covers to Choose From
We set up an open-air booth with the purple backdrop hung behind the venue’s chair. Guests picked their cover: Rolling Stone, Vogue or People. Each overlay was designed to look like the real thing, from the fonts to the layout.
The open-air setup fit the nightclub feel of the room, and the booth turned into the social hub of the reception. Guests lined up all night for their turn on the cover.
Four Weeks From Booking to Cover
The couple booked with four weeks to go, so we moved fast. Overlay designs were finalized within a week of booking, leaving time to test and print before the wedding.
We worked with the venue to hang the backdrop safely from its heavy-duty curtain system, set up well before guests arrived for lighting adjustments and test shots, and our attendants guided every session so each photo matched the theme.
